High-performance green silica from agricultural waste.

Advanced materials company developing low-carbon precipitated silica from rice husk ash, replacing traditional silica derived from carbon-intensive quartz mining and riverbed sand extraction.

Key thesis

One of the biggest opportunities in the climate space is to build high-performance, green materials that meet or surpass the performance specifications of traditional, high-emission materials. These can act not only as a sustainable substitute for customers, but provide a diversified supply chain, critical in today's world of geopolitical and supply chain instability.

Brisil has developed a patented process over the last 10 years to develop low-carbon, high-performance precipitated silica, from rice husk ash (the waste of waste), for use in tyres, FMCG, and footwear. This replaces traditional silica, which comes from quartz and riverbed mining. Importantly, Brisil's silica price is not correlated to traditional commodities, providing a strong diversification benefit along with sustainability play.

Overview

Brisil manufactures low-carbon precipitated silica from rice husk ash (RHA) using a patented process that replaces carbon-intensive quartz mining and riverbed sand extraction. Its low-carbon silica delivers two wins at once: it valorises an agricultural waste stream that otherwise risks landfill or poor disposal, and it diversifies global supply chains for precipitated silica.

Brisil's patented process delivers consistent, spec-grade output regardless of RHA variability — creating a drop-in material for tyres, footwear, toothpaste, paints, coatings and other industrial and consumer applications. Brisil is one of the few large-scale green silica companies in the world.
